Description from Classic Auctions: Backstopping the U. of Maine Black Bears for four seasons, Mike Morrison was drafted by Edmonton in 1998 and saw action in 21 games during his rookie season of 2005-06. The Massachusetts native would play four games with the Phoenix Coyotes in 2006-07 – with the offered signed mask made for this season and worn in at least the Oct 19th and Oct 24th contests (the mask was most likely worn in all four games and practices when factoring in the wear, but images have been found only from the aforementioned pair), and was later worn during the preseason of the 2007-08 season with the New York Islanders and has been photo-matched (areas with Coyotes identifiers were taped over as seen in the image, with this tape later removed). Produced by Warwick with construction details handwritten to the interior along with “Custom Made by Gary Warwick for Mike Morrison – Phoenix Coyotes 2006-07”, the detailed Coyotes paint scheme was executed by Armor Graphics, with a few emblems added to the backplate including a cross and Boston Red Sox logo. The mask shows great use with marks and surface abrasions visible, with considerable chipping over the chin section. There is also some soiling to the mouth guard and pad.
Morrison has signed over the top, with the thin black ink signature displaying well. Getty Image #77157298 (Sept 28, 2007 – New York Islanders PRESEASON) has been matched to details within the paint scheme, with the distinct marks to and shape of the upper left corner of the front opening matching, with the surface abrasion line over the second middle hole on the right side of the mask also visible.
