Description from Classic Auctions: Spending three seasons in the QMJHL with the St. Hyacinthe Laser before embarking on his record-setting NHL Hall of Fame career, Martin Brodeur would unsurprisingly make the league's All-Rookie team in 1989-90, with 2nd All-Star Team honours in 1991–92. The superstar would be drafted by the New Jersey Devils 20th overall in 1990, and the rest as they say, is history. From his days with the Laser, we have a pair of both home and away jerseys worn by the NHL’s all-time wins leader, with the white example photo-matched! Both sporting matching Maska Ultrafil labels with “54” size tags, “Laser” appears across the chest in layered tackle twill, with “1” over each sleeve and verso in matching material. Embroidered CCM and CHL crests are also present on each reverse hem, with no nameplates currently and evidence of former examples. Regarding the photo-matched white jersey, an included numeric image has been matched to the circular dark mark on the middle inside section of the left sleeve, to the darker mark slightly above, and to the team repair over the left lower front, where the material can clearly be seen bunched-up. Pre-rookie sweaters from iconic Hall of Fame players rarely surface, especially matching pairs, with these examples worthy of any advanced jersey collection.
The white jersey exhibits heavy use, with numerous marks throughout, more so on each sleeve, with plenty of red paint transfer present. There is also heavy pilling within the right inner sleeve.
