Description: from Classic Auctions: Superb display piece was worn by John Garrett in the latter stages of his 15-year professional career. Garrett guarded the Canucks’ net for parts of three seasons (’82-’85) while wearing this painted Greg Harrison-made mask. Showing plenty of game use with chips/scrapes at the nose and above the left eye revealing some blue paint underneath and pointing to Garrett’s previous time with the Hartford Whalers. The combination leather and elastic straps are intact and the original back plate is also present. A photo of Garrett wearing the mask in action will be included with this great piece of Canucks’ history. It was obtained by our consignor from longtime mask collector Richard Curry who dealt directly with Mr. Harrison years ago to acquire the masks made by him. Another cool one to say the least!
