Description: This road red knit gamer by CCM and Eastside was worn by Greg Stefan during the 1985-86 NHL season. The Detroit Red Wings selected Stefan in the 7th round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. Stefan played his entire 9-year NHL career in Hockeytown, spanning 1981-82 thru 1989-90. Greg backstopped the Red Wings during their back-to-back runs to the Conference Finals in 1987 and 1988 where they fell to the dynasty Edmonton Oilers both seasons. He was a 3-time 20 game winner and appeared in a career high 50 games for the Wings in 1983-84. Known for aggressively protecting his crease, Stefan received some memorable and lengthy suspensions by the league for altercations involving his stick and other player’s heads, memorably Dan Frawley and Al Secord.
Embroidered to the left shoulder of this gamer is the Detroit Red Wings 60-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this sweater consists of stick and puck marks, goal post paint transfer, pulls, areas of heavy pilling and a heavily salted fight strap. A terrific patched example that was worn by the Wings man between the pipes
