Description: This beautiful early 70’s Rangers jersey was Gilles Villemure in one of his best seasons in 1971-72. Coming off winning the Vezina trophy with Giacomin, Villemure played in 37 games, going 24-7-4 with a 2.09 GAA, the lowest of his NHL career. The jersey shows nice wear with a deep mark on the body with a repair right below it. There is another good mark between the R and A that is photomatched to the 1972-73 Rangers media guide. The jersey shows pilling in the armpits and in the interior. The stripes on the shoulder yokes are also sewn on inconsistently and appear to match photos as well. In addion ot the photo match, the jersey has a letter of authenticity and a certificate of registration from the MeiGray Group.
