Description: This Buffalo Sabres jersey was worn by Don Edwards during the 1979-80 season when he won the Vezina Trophy. The Sabres, along with the Islanders, donned jerseys with the Lake Placid patch to commemorate the Olympics coming to the New York in February 1980. Edwards played in 49 regular season games, going 27-9-12 with a 2.57 GAA and 2 shutouts. He also wore this jersey while the Sabres beat the Central Red Army 6-1 in Super Series 1980. During the playoffs, Edwards played in 6 games, going 3-3 and finishing with a 2.83 GAA. The Sabres finished the season with the fewest goals allowed, leading to Edwards and Bob Sauve sharing the Vezina Award, the only win of both of their careers. The jersey shows moderate wear with several repairs on the back hem and nice pilling in the cuffs. The white mark on the right shoulder matches up nicely to the Getty Image photo of Edwards wearing this jersey.
