Eliot graduated from Cornell University after tending goal for the Big Red for 4 seasons of ECAC play. Eliot next spent a year with the Canadian National Team that culminated between the pipes for Team Canada during the 1984 Olympics. He made his NHL debut the following season with the LA Kings. Eliot spent 3 years in goal for Los Angeles before spending a year with Detroit and a final season with Buffalo.
